Cape Town NumberSense Workshop: 31 January & 1 February 2025

The successful implementation of the NumberSense Mathematics Programme

This workshop has been designed to guide and support teachers who are early on in their journey of implementing the NumberSense Mathematics Programme. The workshop will also be of interest to teachers who have been implementing the programme for some time but who want to refresh their understanding, or refine their implementation.

Date: Friday, 31 January and Saturday, 1 February 2025
Venue: Southpoint Studios: Sunrise House (entrance 5), 75 Morningside Street, Ndabeni, Pinelands, 7405
Time: We are exploring a new workshop structure that is intended to be more responsive to the different needs of Foundation and Intermediate/Senior Phase teachers. Each workshop will deal with a single topic over three sessions starting on Friday afternoon and ending mid-afternoon on Saturday. Session times and content will be as follows:

• Session 1: (Friday 14:30 to 17:00): Foundation Phase focus.
• Session 2: (Saturday 08:30 to 12:30) Generic content for both Foundation and Intermediate/Senior Phase teachers.
• Session 3: (Saturday 13.00 to 15:30): Intermediate/Senior Phase focus.

Ideally, Foundation Phase teachers will attend sessions 1 and 2, while Intermediate/Senior Phase teachers will attend sessions 2 and 3. All participants are welcome to attend all three sessions.

You will be required to indicate which sessions you will be attending as part of your registration. A registration is not transferable/shareable – one registration, one person.

Cost: R 695 (2 sessions) / R 995 (3 sessions).
