The workshop structure for 2025 will be different. This is in response to feedback from participants who report that the NumberSense Mathematics Programme workshops are “too general” and not sufficiently phase specific.
Each workshop will deal with a single topic over three sessions starting on Friday afternoon and ending mid-afternoon on Saturday. Timings and sessions will be as follows:
Session 1: Foundation Phase focus
Friday: 14:30 to 17:00
Session 2: Generic focus (Foundation and Intermediate)
Saturday: 08:30 to 12:30
Session 3: Intermediate/Senior Phase focus
Saturday: 13:00 to 15:30
Notes:
- Participants are welcome to attend all three sessions.
- The attendance fee is the same regardless of how many sessions a participant attends.
- A registration is not transferable (shareable), one registration one person.
First workshop topic and dates:
Topic: Successful implementation of the NumberSense Mathematics Programme
Focus: The workshop is intended to support teachers who are early in their journey of implementing the NumberSense Mathematics Programme. The workshop will also be of interest to teachers who have been implementing the programme for some time, but want to refresh their understanding or refine their implementation

- Cape Town: 31 January and 1 February 2025
- Johannesburg: 14 and 15 February 2025
- Pietermaritzburg: 28 February and 1 March 2025
- George:14 and 15 March 2025
- Gqeberha:11 and 12 April 2025

Dates for the second workshop:
- Johannesburg: 1 and 2 August 2025
- Cape Town: 15 and 16 August 2025
- Gqeberha: 29 and 30 August 2025
- Durban: 5 and 6 September 2025
Additional venues may be added in response to requests from members of the NumberSense Mathematics Programme User Group.
