Investigations and Problem Solving in the NumberSense Mathematics Programme

In addition to exploring the role of investigations and problem solving in the context of teaching and learning mathematics, the workshop also addresses two important implementation issues:

    • Completing four workbooks per year in the context of a differentiated classroom; and
    • Managing the marking load.

    Workshop dates:

    • Durban: 20 July 2024 @ Clifton Prep
    • George: 31 August ’24 @ Glenwood House
    • Cape Town: 14 September ’24 @ St George’s Grammar School
    • Johannesburg: 12 October ’24 @ The Indaba (Fourways)
    • Gqeberha: 19 October ’24 @ Grey Junior

    Workbook covers
We are aware that the change to a 64-page workbook has resulted in an unsatisfactory number of cases where workbook covers are coming off. Together with the printers, we are working on this and are optimistic that we will have addressed the issue in time for the 2025 school year.
